Hindustan Fluorocarbons Limited - Q1 RESULTS - REVIEW

Hindustan Fluorocarbons Limited
Q1 RESULTS REVIEW

Hindustan Fluorocarbons Limited (HFL) was incorporated on 14th July, 1983 as a subsidiary company of Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL), a CPSE under the administrative control of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals.

It is located at Rudraram, District Sangareddy, in Telangana.

The company started commercial production in the year 1987 and is engaged in the manufacture of Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) at 500 tons p.a. and of Chloro Di Fluoro Methane (CFM-22). PTFE is extensively used in chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronic industries and has strategic applications in defence and aerospace sectors. CFM-22 is used as pure or in mixture for refrigeration. The raw materials used by HFL are Chloroform and Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid (AHF) which are sourced from public / private firms in the country.

HIFLON MM2 powder is excellent lubricant additive for specialized oils and greases designed for conditions / systems where conventional additives such as graphite molybdenum disulphide are unsuitable. Other applications include lubrication at low temperatures in corrosive conditions where cleanliness is demanded and non-stick properties are required.

The technology for manufacture of PTFE was sourced from M/s Atochem, France, one of the world leaders in Fluorocarbons and Fluoropolymers.

HFL has the rare distinction of owning PTFE know-how, which is available to a select few companies in the world. Rightly, HFL is synthesizing the skills of its expertise with tomorrow's technologies to build on its core competencies. HFL is marketing  PTFE resin under the brand name of HIFLON.

The Strength of HFL lies in its knowledge base acquired over the last 25 years by its team of highly skilled and dedicated Engineers, who have been trained at M/s Atochem, France in manufacture of PTFE.

Its continuous R&D, and interactions with customers is the driving force behind its achievements, marketing and supporting systems. The highly motivated work force of HFL is forging ahead with a single minded purpose.

Business

The main products manufactured by HFL are CFM-22 (chloro Fluoro Methane Gas (R-22)), TFE  (Tetra Fluoro Ethylene), PTFE  (Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene). The major raw materials consumed are Chloroform   &   AHF (Anhydro Fluoric Acid).

CFM-22(R-22) is mainly used as refrigerant gas.

PTFE is a versatile engineering plastic PTFE is having outstanding properties such as chemical stability inertness along with low coefficient of fraction and outstanding electrical insulating and dio electrical properties, hence used for automobile industries, mechanical seal, packing for hydrolic pump spares and etc.

TFE is used as a main precursor to manufacture of series of fluoro Speciality chemicals.
