QUARTERLY RESULTS SEASON
Q/E 31.12.2010:
WHAT TO EXPECT IN JANUARY 2011
As usual, the new year starts with the 3rd quarter results season. Some of the Major results expected are of Infosys on 13.01.2011, SAIL on 13th, HDFC on 14th and Bajaj Auto on 19th.
These results can be expected to be much better than 3rd Qtr of last year and will drive up the Market.
Auto Sales for December 2010 so far declared have been fantastic. The 3rd quarter sales have been significantly better than last year for most of the Auto Majors. I hope, all other Auto Majors like Bajaj Auto will report similar numbers.
Maruti’s R.C.Bhargava is quite bullish on 2011 too. With GDP growth outstripping Automobile prices in the last several years and similar trend expected to continue in future years, more and more people are becoming able to buy automobiles. Auto majors therefore expect auto sales to maintain current upward trend for a long time to come.
We can expect a few more prominent companies to announce their Board meetings for declaration of 3rd Qtr results in January in the next few days.
From the Banking stable, IndusInd Bank and South Indian Bank can be expected to produce pleasing results for their investors on 17th,and 20th. Other Banking sector results slated for January are – SBT and KTK Bank. Other Banks can also be expected to produce good results for 3rd quarter.
Indraprastha Gas has had a good run during the quarter and may produce some good results on 8th Jan.
From Pharma sector, Pfizer and Wyeth are declaring results on 11th.
More frontline companies may announce their board meetings for declaration of results in Janurary in coming days.
