SALES PERFORMANCE
February
2012 sales at 92,119 Nos
Total
sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in February
2012 were 92,119 vehicles, higher by 19% over February 2011. The
company's domestic
sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for February 2012
were 86,704 nos., higher by 19% over 73,039 nos., sold in
February last year.
Cumulative sales
(including exports) for the company
for the fiscal are 806,354 nos., a growth of 12% over 719,976 nos., sold last
year.
Commercial Vehicles
The
company's sales of commercial vehicles in February 2012 in the domestic market
were 51,872 nos., a 26% growth, compared to 41,130 vehicles,
sold in February last year.
LCV
sales were 32,540 nos., a growth of 38%, compared to 23,498 vehicles
sold in February, last year.
M&HCV
sales stood at 19,332 nos., a growth of 10%, compared to 17,632 vehicles
sold in February, last year.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for
the fiscal are 471,917 nos., a growth of 19% over last year.
Cumulative LCV sales are 286,880 nos., a growth of 26% over last year,
while M&HCV
sales stood at 185,037 nos., a growth of 10% over last year.
Passenger Vehicles
The
passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of
36,536 nos. (34,832 Tata + 1,704 Fiat) in the domestic market in February 2012,
higher by
8%, compared to 33,751 nos. (31,909 Tata + 1,842 Fiat) in February
last year.
Sales
of Tata passenger vehicles for February 2012 are at 34,832 nos., a growth of 9%
over 31,909 nos., sold in February last year.
Sales
of the Tata Nano were 9,217 nos., higher by 12%, compared to 8,262 nos., sold in
February, last year.
The
Indica range sales were 10,424 nos., higher by 4%, over 10,044 nos., sold in
February, last year.
The
Indigo range recorded sales of 8,595 nos., lower by 4%, over 8,966 nos., sold in
February, last year.
The
Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range accounted for sales of 6,596 nos., a growth of 42%,
over 4,637 nos., sold in February, last year.
Jaguar Land Rover sales in India continued their upward trend.
Cumulative sales and distribution offtake of passenger vehicles in the
domestic market for the fiscal are 291,406 nos. (276,726 Tata + 14,680 Fiat),
against 290,037 nos. (270836 Tata + 19,201 Fiat) last year. Cumulative sales of
Tata passenger vehicles were 276,726 nos., compared to 270,836 nos., till
February last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano are 64,052 nos., higher by 4%,
compared to 61,725 nos., till February last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica
range are 94,286 nos., higher by 4%, compared to 90,914 nos., till
February last year. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family are 69,438 nos., lower by 14%,
compared to 80,722 nos., till February last year. Cumulative sales of the
Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range are 48,950 nos., higher by 31%, compared to
37,475 nos., till February last year.
Exports
Sales from exports at 5,415 vehicles
in February 2012 are higher by 20% compared to 4,504 vehicles in
February last year. Cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal
at 57,711 nos. are higher by 11% over 52,112 nos., in the same
period last year.
January’2012 sales at 87,465 nos
TATA Passenger Vehicle sales
highest ever for any month
Total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger
vehicles in January 2012 were 87,465 vehicles, higher by 16% over January 2011.
The company's domestic
sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for January 2012
were 80,382 nos., higher by 14% over 70,475 nos., sold in
January last year.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are
714,235 nos., a growth
of 11% over 642,415 nos., sold last year.
Commercial Vehicles
Sales
of commercial vehicles in January 2012 in the domestic market were 45,713 nos.,
a 14% growth,
compared to 40,263 vehicles, sold in January last year.
LCV
sales were 27,375 nos., a growth of 15%, compared to 23,776 vehicles
sold in January, last year.
M&HCV
sales stood at 18,338 nos., a growth of 11%, compared to 16,487 vehicles
sold in January, last year.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the
fiscal are 420,045 nos., a growth of 18% over last year. Cumulative LCV
sales are 254,340 nos., a growth of 24% over last year, while M&HCV sales
stood at 165,705 nos., a growth of 10% over last year.
Passenger Vehicles
Passenger
vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 36,770 nos.
(34,669 Tata + 2,101 Fiat) in the domestic market in January 2012, higher by 14% compared
to 32,386 nos. (30,212 Tata + 2,174 Fiat) in January last year. Sales of Tata
passenger vehicles for January 2012 are at 34,669 nos., a growth of 15% over 30,212 nos.,
sold in January last year, and highest ever for any month. Sales of the Tata Nano
were 7,723 nos., higher by 15%, compared to 6,703 nos., sold in January,
last year. The Indica range sales were 11,534 nos., higher by 9%, over 10,591
nos., sold in January, last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 9,272
nos., higher by 10%, over 8,456 nos., sold in January, last year. The Sumo/
Safari/ Aria/ Venture range accounted for sales of 6,140 nos., a growth of 38%,
over 4,462 nos., sold in January, last year.
Jaguar Land Rover sales in India continued their upward trend.
Cumulative
sales and distribution offtake of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for
the fiscal are 254,870 nos. (241,894 Tata + 12,976 Fiat), against 256,268 nos.
(238,909 Tata + 17,359 Fiat) last year. Cumulative sales of Tata passenger
vehicles were 241,894 nos., compared to 238,909 nos., till January last year.
Cumulative sales of the Nano are
54, 835 nos., higher
by 3%, compared to 53,463 nos., till January last year. Cumulative
sales of the Indica range are 83,862 nos., higher by 4%. Cumulative sales of the Indigo
family are 60,843 nos., lower by 15%. Cumulative sales of the
Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range are 42,354 nos., higher by 29%.
Exports
Sales from exports at 7,083 vehicles in January 2012 are higher by 43% compared to 4,948
vehicles in January last year. Cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal
at 52,296 nos. are higher by 10% over 47,608 nos., in the same
period last year.
Group global wholesales
at 119,799 vehicles in
January 2012
Tata
Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 119,799 nos.,
in January 2012, higher by 21% over January 2011. Cumulative sales for the
fiscal are 985,260, higher by 13% compared to the corresponding
period in 2010-11.
Global
sales of all commercial vehicles - Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano
Carrocera range -- were 53,014 nos. in January 2012, a growth of 15%. Cumulative sales
for the fiscal are 478,339 nos., a growth of 17%.
Global
sales of all passenger vehicles were at 66,785 nos. in January 2012, higher by 26%.
Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 506,921 nos., higher by 10%.
Global
sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat
cars were at 37,492 nos., for the month, higher by 14%, over January 2011. Cumulative
sales for the fiscal are at 261,216 nos.
Global
sales of Jaguar Land Rover in January 2012 were at 29,293 vehicles, higher by 44%
over January 2011. Jaguar sales for the month were 4,547 nos., higher by 49%,
while Land Rover sales were 24,746 nos., higher by 43%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land
Rover for the fiscal are 245,705 nos., higher by 25%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar are
44,468 nos., lower by 3%, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 201,237
nos., higher
by 34%.
COMMENTS
As
can be seen from the above stats, Jan + Feb sales of TATA vehicles has been
quite impressive, indicating a definite uptrend in its India Operations.
Based
on this, its Q4 India performance (FINANCIAL) can be expected to be quite
IMPRESSIVE. In Q3, its European Operations were impressive but its India
operations slightly fell short. But, this will change in Q4 and TATA MOTORS’ India operations also will
be quite Good.
Likewise,
its Global operations in January indicate an impressive Q4 financial
Performance ahead. Feb and March also can see similar uptrend in Sales.
At the Delhi Auto Expo 2012,in January, TATA Motors has unveiled several new Models which are to be launched in 2012. TATA Motors also unveiled its Megapixel, a new 4-Seater city-smart global range extended electrical vehicle concept at Geneva motor Show. Powered by Robust Technology back-up, TATA Motors can be expected to move up in India and globally in coming quarters.
